Campus Inclusivity 

 

An inclusive campus starts with an inclusive Student Government

 

1. Encouraging and supporting senate initiatives that promote diversity and inclusivity on campus

2. Intentional efforts to bring in more diverse voices to Student Government 

3. Supporting collaboration between Student Government and student organizations on diversity and inclusivity projects 

4. Instituting bias training, inclusive leadership workshops, Title IX training, We Are Wake training for Student Government leaders

 

Mental Health 

 

Cultivating a supportive and healthy campus environment is a priority for Student Government

 

1. Supporting initiatives to expand mental health resources for students 

2. Advocating for the recruitment of diverse UCC staff 

3. Sponsoring campus mental health awareness campaigns, workshops, and seminars that can help to promote understanding and reduce stigma around mental health issues

 

Campus Safety and Accessibility 

 

Student Government is dedicated to ensuring the safety of students and to promoting space equity and accessibility

 

1. Cultivating discussions among students about campus safety and accessibility

2. Encouraging police presence in designated areas at designated times

3. Fostering clear communication between campus police and student body 

4. Advocating for more equitable distribution of space for student organizations 

 

Student Engagement 

 

Student government is committed to promoting student engagement, fostering a sense of community, and providing students with opportunities for personal and professional development 

 

1. Encouraging legislative efforts to support student organizations and develop greater collaboration between student government and student organizations 

2. Gathering feedback from students about their experiences and using it to support their programs and services

3. Supporting events and programs that cater to the interests and needs of students
